Extremes

Anna has personality plus!  She is a girl of extremes.  When she is happy she is the happiest girl in the world.  When anything bugs her she can throw a diva fit to rival anyone.  Lately we have been trying to work with her through major tantrums that seem to last for hours.  It is pretty normal for this age.  Between her teeth her desire to assert herself and do what she wants life has been anything but dull.  Things that make her happy are:
Grandma
Outside
Cookies
Her pacifier
Her Momma, Dada, or Maddie
Baby Einstein
The stairs
Pulling stuff out of any cupboard
Fruit Snacks
"Gurt" yogurt
Cats or dogs
My phone
The remote
Crayons
Her stroller
 outside

Things that make her unhappy are:

Diaper changes
Having hands wiped
Getting Dressed
Getting in her car seat
Having anything she wants taken away
Not getting what she wants when she wants it!
Having her nose wiped
Getting out of the bath
Having to be contained (sacrament pew at church)
Being babysat
scrunchy nose
She is really into pointing at things and trying to communicate what she wants with her finger.  You would think this would help me out but sometimes a point at a pantry full of food can be very vague.  Also, a point at the TV for Baby Einstein when she has already had a show leads to anger and frustration.   I can see the wheels turn as she says I am showing you what I want Momma.  She doesn't get the whole it is not always time for that thing.
Life with this sweetie is fun, wonderful, exasperating, and crazy.  I would not trade it for all the dark chocolate the world has to offer ;)
She likes to steal my cereal bowl and spoon every morning.  She has her own plastic bowl and spoon and her own cereal but obviously mine is better.

This one is not a great pic because of the sun in our eyes but this was taken at Grandpa's 99th birthday party.

Firsts

Annalise is really growing up and seems to have new firsts everyday.  She is now quite the little walker.  She stills falls down a bit but can easily cross entire rooms.  She is so proud of her accomplishments and after walking across a room she will giggle and clap her hands.  Anna also has quite the temper and throws tantrums on a regular basis.  She gets very mad when someone says no or doesn't allow her to have exactly what she wants when she wants it.  Some of this is just normal frustration on not being able to communicate exactly what she wants and some of it is teething.  She has got two teeth that have popped through and some spots that look like more are coming.  She got to have her first ziploc with snacks this week.  Instead of just throwing them everywhere she will sit and eat them pretty well.
I have been leery of crayons because she stills puts everything in her mouth but we have been working with her (and watching closely) and she was ready for her first coloring book.  She is fascinated with coloring and likes to pick up each crayon and use it and then put it in a neat pile and pick a new color.  She mostly just makes little marks but she is having fun with it.  With general conference this weekend she got to have a lot of practice:)
